In real estate, it’s “location, location, location”. In the world of web-based businesses, however, it’s all about content. Every online business from retail shopping sites to blogs to social media sites require content- and lots of it!

Content is the word used to describe the text on any website you go to. It can also take the form of articles, ebooks, how-to manuals, free reports- the list goes on and on. Content is what makes the world (wide web) go round.

Usually when people are just starting a website, they’ll research and create their own content for each web page. This works out for people who are reasonably good writers and have a solid understanding of writing for internet markets; but for people who have difficulty putting their ideas into words, they may decide to hire a writer to put it together for them.

When people expand their online businesses, for example- when a blogger begins starting multiple blogs on various topics, or one website business turns into five or six websites; even really good writers have trouble keeping up with all of their sites! These people also turn to writers to help them keep their websites updated with fresh ideas and give their site visitors a reason to come back to their site. The search engines like frequently updated websites, too.

Don’t Be Afraid Of No Ghost

Most new web-based business owners are unfamiliar with the term “ghostwriter”. They may hesitate to hire a writer because they think they lose credibility or end up promoting the writer rather than their own businesses, since a freelance writer will often require a by-line on the work they provide for someone else’s website. In the case of ghostwriter’s though, this just isn’t true.

Ghostwriter’s provide researched and written content, for whatever purpose you need it for, in exchange for payment. Once you’ve received the work and paid the agreed upon fee for it; you can literally slap your name on the article, ebook, web content, etc- and call it your own. So if you’re trying to operate a multitude of websites that all require updated content on a regular basis, you can build your own credibility and business by working with ghostwriters. They’ll provide you with the content you need, and you still get to put your name on it as the author- which lends you credibility on the subject matter.

If you’ve been trying to break into the online writing market, you may want to start as a ghostwriter. The opportunities for ghostwriting are endless, and it is often an easy way for a beginner to get their feet wet and make some money with their writing skills.

When businesses need writing and help establishing they’re own credibility, who’re they gonna call? Ghostwriters!
