Promote Your Blog With Blogrize

I’m always looking for new ways to promote my blog content, so when I heard about Blogrize, I rushed over to sign up. Blogrize bills itself as ‘a blog community and blog aggregator that brings you today’s most interesting web content by harnessing the collective intelligence of communities of people who enjoy reading the same blogs.’ Here’s how it works.
Signing Up
It only takes second to sign up and to state whether you wish to claim a blog. The blog claim process worked quickly and efficiently. All I did was type in the URL, then the site gave me a snippet of code to add to a post. It worked like a charm and my blog was soon live. I then added some additional information about the language as well as other blogs in my niche and stated authorship details. If you are not the sole author, you can tell Blogrize which posts to claim.
Get Set
The next step was to set up my profile, adding a photo, some text about myself and links to some social media sites. Sites allowed include Delicious, Facebook, Friendfeed, Google Reader, LinkedIn and Twitter, but you can link to other social media profiles simply by adding the URL. One of the useful features was that the site used the information entered to find other online profiles that might belong to me and I was able to choose the ones I wished to add. I was also able to find some of my online friends and add them, as on other social media sites.
Does It Work?
Now, here’s the rub. When you claim a blog, it becomes a community with a single member (you) but it doesn’t become active until you have some more members. That makes it hard for people to see and vote up your posts and comment on them. If you are running a huge site, like ReadWriteWeb, then this site will work well for you. For owners of smaller blogs, you will have to spend some time on promoting your Blogrize profile before you get the real benefit. I put Blogrize under the ‘one to watch’ category and I will look forward to seeing what additional features they release.

Thanks for the post - the site looks interesting, and I’ll check it out. Maybe one to look out for.
It’s hard to know what will succeed these days, but Blog Catalog and Friendfeed are two to use for certain
