I’m currently working in affiliate marketing where PPC forms a central part of our promotion strategy. We use quite a few different tools from time to time, and there are hundreds of different PPC tools available, but there are three tools which, whilst not the most clever or advanced, have proved to be invaluable:

1) Keyword Concatenator

When setting up a PPC campaign you want to ensure that you’ve covered every single combination of your relevant keywords. This is where the PPC Keyword Concatenator comes in, allowing you to combine up to five columns of keywords, resulting in a comprehensive list of keywords.

2) Keyword Wrapper

So you’ve used the Keyword Concatenator to generate a huge list of broad match keywords? Now you just need to convert a few of the popular ones into exact match keywords. The PPC Ad Wrapper instantly does this.

It’s definitely worth converting your popular keywords into exact and even phrase match keywords. There have been numerous campaigns which I’ve run where an exact match keyword hasn’t converted and yet the broad or phrase match term was extremely profitable.

3) Google Test Search

In AdWords you can view the number of impressions and the average position of your ads. However, sometimes it’s nice to check this out for yourself without having to search on Google normally and therefore creating unnecessary impressions. To do this Google has a very helpful Test Search.

This Test Search is also extremely useful if you’re promoting direct-to-merchant affiliate opportunities as it’ll instantly show you whether your ads or those of another affiliate are showing.

Do you carry out much PPC advertising? Which tools have you found the most helpful?
