RSS Subscription Winners, Stats & More

Posted by Patrick on October 26th, 2007

As promised yesterday, I am announcing the winners for the RSS Subscription Draw.

  • Winner of $50 PayPal money: bingungaja
  • Winner of the book The Google Story: mblogger

I will be contacting the winners by email. Their very last step to get their prize will be to reply a comment to this post.

Stumble Flood

In the last week, we’ve had StumbleUpon users hitting the site big time. I am currently working on a post talking about my StumbleUpon experimentations, but I can tell you already that the results are impressive. Between Oct 22nd and now (Oct 26th 03:30pm EST), PiggyBankPie has been visited by 1745 users, which is quite a lot for a 3 weeks-old blog. And I am getting more and more emails by users interested by the PiggyBankPie Project. So while we are keeping the focus on Blogging and Make Money Online content, PiggyBankPie is taking is place in the Freelance Writer niche. Just look at the following search terms that were used to find this site:

  • make money online writing no fee
  • make money freelance online articles
  • paid postings

I think this one is particularly funny (this is no joke, someone really found PiggyBankPie with this phrase)

  • Make my own pie online

Mark Herpel and Tiffany Blue’s articles were indexed very quickly by search engines and ended up generating referral hits from the following search terms:

e-gold related terms:

  • get paid egold free sponsored link for your blog
  • get paid for money transfers
  • exchange e-gold, WebMoney
  • buy egold with credit card
  • currency to your paypal account (Mark was also talking about PayPal is his post)
  • get paid online world wide
  • i want to get money transfered on line but i have no account

PayPal related terms:

  • get paid online paypal
  • how long to paypal money to bank
  • make money + paypal
  • get paid online through paypal

As for Sharon Hurley Hall, our official Pro Blogger with an established crowd, each time she posts, StumbleUpon or not, there’s a peek in the stats. And what about Tracey Sands who got 110 StumbleUpon visits on her very first published article on PiggyBankPie, this site is getting better and better, thanks to excellent content from a nice group of writers.

All this recent hype has had a direct impact on PiggyBankPie’s Alexa Rank. When I registered the site on Alexa around Oct 1st, we were listed somewhere in the 4 millions. Today’s rank is 781,730. Again, considering we’re 3 weeks-old, that’s impressive.

Does Freelance Makes Sense?

When I launched PiggyBankPie and thought about the idea of many writers, my only hesitation came from a few posts I had read on other blogs. Some Pro Bloggers (not related to problogger.net) who usually write all their posts noticed a decrease in traffic when publishing articles from guest bloggers. But it appears to me that this has the opposite impact for PiggyBankPie.com since this is core business, in other words it’s one of our niche.

I’m really happy with what has been accomplished in such a short period of time. Now stay tuned for great upcoming posts from our writers, and thank you, readers and writers, for supporting PiggyBankPie.com.
