Here at PiggyBankPie we’ve always looked to place an extra emphasis on guest blogging, as it provides instant visibility to new blogs as well as a host of other benefits. However, we haven’t really ever covered the step just before guest blogging… the process of actually starting a blog. So coming up over the next few weeks is a new series for all those looking to start a blog, answering questions such as:

Which blogging platform should you choose?

Which Wordpress plugins should you install?

I also suggest to do a blogpost on choosing keywords for a blog. With a blog you have to understand that you need to target less competitive keywords, especially long tail keywords. You can’t just write a post targeting a competitive 2 word phrase. The trick is to target a large number of low volume keywords that add up to a decent stream of traffic.

I’d agree with that - we’ll look to cover keyword research either within one of the posts or in a post of its own.
