Now that I read this post I feel a bit guilty, because I intended to participate and ended up not doing it. Hopefully I’ll be able to submit a post to the next edition. :) By the way, when will the next edition take place?

  2. Patrick Says:

Hi Karen, thanks for stopping by. I’m trying to figure out the topic of the next Carnival… I’d like to try something else. I’ll keep you posted. :-)

    Patrick

  3. Lid Says:

Alas, I too wanted to participate but seems I missed it as well. Am looking forward to the next Carnival!

  5. Wayne Smallman Says:

Other than the author of this article, I don’t know of anyone else who participates in ‘blog carnivals.

But I can certainly vouch for the benefits of having guest ‘bloggers, which have proved very successful for my own ‘blog over this last six months.

    Highly recommended…

Hi Wayne, This was the first blog carnival from PiggyBankPie, in other words, it was a test to see if Blog Carnivals were good solutions to bring new traffic, links and new readers. If you don’t try/test it, you won’t know for sure.

To be honest, I’m not sure if I will organize another one. While the idea behind blog carnivals was good originally, I think social media and other forms of blogging collaboration are much better ways to generate traffic these days. Maybe other topics are more popular for carnivals, who knows?

As for guest blogging, thanks for sharing your experience. I also think Guest Blogging has numerous advantages for bloggers, that’s why I post on this subject on a regular basis.

    Thanks for stopping by
    Patrick

@Wayne Smallman: I do participate in blog carnivals, and I know many other bloggers who do as well. My favourite BC so far is “Resource For Bloggers,” run by Diana from 134u.com. My blogs always get some hits plus backlinks whenever she releases another edition, so I can’t complain at all. :)

@Patrick: Don’t give up so fast. Blog carnivals won’t give you hundreds of new visitors, of course, but there are other advantages. Branding, for instance. ;)
