A New Beginning

When life brings you good things, it often comes with difficult decisions… at no extra costs.

I started brainstorming the Piggy Bank Pie project about a year ago, in July 2007 precisely. Then on October 1st 2007, I was officially launching this site.

It’s been quite a ride ever since then and I have to say, I am very proud of what’s been published here since day 1. The Most Popular Post widget shows off some of these accomplishments, and I’m very excited about the Writing Services portfolio.

Moving Forward

With new responsibilities at my day job, it was becoming difficult for me to sustain both an IT manager career, now a new member of the board, and blogging activities on the side. For this reason, I decided to auction the site on Sitepoint, hoping someone would continue the great Piggy Bank Pie journey.

Welcome, Charles

I leave you in the hands of Charles, the new site owner. I have to say, I am very happy about Charles taking the lead with Piggy Bank Pie. He’s a long time reader, and dealing with him recently I can fairly say that he’s a great guy. I wish you good luck Charles, and if you continue to accept guest blogging posts at Piggy Bank Pie, I will surely write occasionally to keep in touch with the Piggy Bank Pie readership.

Thank You, Sharon Hurley Hall

My Piggy Bank Pie journey cannot end without a special note to a dear blogging friend and long time collaborator: freelance writer Sharon Hurley Hall.

“Sharon, you’ve been a great inspiration to me from the very beginning. Thank you for everything you did for Piggy Bank Pie, for the great posts you’ve published here and through the Writing Services. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you’ll continue your collaboration with the new owner.”

Thank You

Now a few personal thanks to some blogger friends I made in the last year or so:

Thanks to my good friend Jay who designs great banner ads, long time reader and commenter Yus from my cuppa iced coffee, my buddy Kiltak who runs the great Geeks are Sexy blog, Mark the man behind the Digital Gold Currency Magazine, Collin who blogs about Website Marketing Strategies at Mixed Market Arts, Tiffany Blue another long time contributor who wrote some great posts that are still bringing new visitors on a daily basis… “I don’t know what you did with this Cha Cha post Tiffany, but apparently Google loves it”, John Chow who gave me my first big guest blogging gig, Maki the online marketing ninja and the whole Team Marketing club, Tad Chef the SEO 2.0 guru from whom I learned a lot about the dark side of optimization and the love and hate relationship between Stumblers and SEOers, Monika the freelance writing queen of Australia, Jeff the Search Engine Marketing hockey guru and Top Sphinner… sorry for the Pens man, that was close, the SocialPromo team and the international Bull’s Eye club. Thanks everyone for the great support and finally thanks to the thousands of Stumblers, Sphinners, Blog Zoomers, Twitters, Mixxers and the raging kids over at Digg, your traffic was very appreciated.
