Ways to Make Money Online

I tried the whole affiliate thing. Searching the internet looking for memberships to join, advertising like crazy everywhere trying to get people to sign up under me, and for what? Nothing. Even Google adsense, I failed like crazy.

But I didn’t give up. Next I moved on to writing my own ebook and promoting it everywhere and anywhere. I’m still promoting it. I figure if I am going to advertise anything it might as well be for me than I get 100% of the profits.

Well one thing about making your own product, is you’re your own team. And it’s a lonely team. It’s a hard path. To be honest my sales for my ebook have been slow. I’m not asking much and I’ve written a good quality book, so I’m not sure the problem.

So I’ve moved on. Don’t get me wrong I’m still trying to promote my book, but I’m also interested in making money online.

I’m a freelance writer as well as a marketer, so after failing at marketing, I decided to try my hand at writing.

So next I went to Google and typed in quotes “writers wanted” and sure enough, page upon page of links appeared with writers wanted. So I applied for a bunch of jobs. Only I didn’t have a resume. I do have a “real” world resume. One that says I’m an accountant; these are my computer skills, blah, blah, blah. But nothing for the “virtual” world.

My solution, create a bio page. (My bio page is listed in the author’s profile if you want to have a look.) So I made a bio page which had a picture of myself, and listed all my qualifications and links to my work. Than when I was applying for jobs I just included that hyperlink.

Looking back, I know it was the lazy way. I knew I needed to make a resume, but I wanted a job.

To my surprise, I got one. I landed a ghostwriter gig with a recruiting website. The guy emails me five topics he wants me to write about a week. I get a nice little bit of cash per article; it’s a nice part time gig, extra Christmas money I like to say.

My other way I got a job online, is by writing free articles. Writing articles helps promote yourself because most sites let you have a link to your own site. Than you can use that article and put it on your resume. If ever you are looking for jobs, they always want samples of your work, or links to your work. Writing free articles is a great way to build up a portfolio fast.

So I wrote a blog, not even an article, on www.performancing.com and the very next day someone contacted me about a blogging job. I declined it, only because I have a lot going on in my life, so I just don’t take any job. But that got me thinking, if I write more free articles, I’ll get more publicity and people will contact me for jobs. And if you’re looking for a writing, or blogging gig, this is a great way to make yourself stand out from the crowd.

The other way I’ve made money online is at www.paidpostingtools.com. Basically this is a site that you have to try-out for. First you sign up, than they make you go to a forum and post 15 posts before you have a chance at a job. A job consists of forum campaigns that you can join that pay you .15c a post.

Now I know that doesn’t sound like much, but considering people read emails for the chance to make .5c, .15c is a lot more, for doing a lot smaller amount of work. Plus forums are a great way to build up your reputation, and again your portfolio.

So if you are like me and sick of working and seeing no results, come on board to freelance writing.
