Paid Postings: What You Should Know…

You have probably already heard of ‘paid postings’ as a way to make money off a blog. There are many companies that serve as middle-men for advertisers, example: Smorty.com, Bloggerwave.com, Payperpost.com, etc… However, you cannot start a blog on one day and be making money off ‘paid postings’ the next day. All of the companies mentioned above require that your blog be at least ninety days old before you can even submit it to them for approval. Before submitting any blog to one of these ‘paid posting’ services make sure you have read and meet all the requirements. I say this because with most of these ‘paid posting’ services, once your blog is declined, you will have to wait another ninety days before you can resubmit it. That can be a long ninety days, especially if it is an unnecessary wait.

The first ninety days of your blog’s lifespan is a good time to get it ready. To do this you should be publishing a lot of posts. Now, I do not mean a whole bunch at one time. You should commit to making at least three posts a week. Make sure one of those posts is a minimum of two-hundred words.

The subject of a blog really does not matter, the ‘paid posting’ services are looking for traffic and page ranking. If your blog’s host (Blogger, Wordpress, etc.) does not offer a traffic counter, get yourself one. Many places will give you a free counter. In most cases, all you will have to do is put a small ad on your blog/website. Do a Google search for “free counters”. I use AmazingCounters.com; they come up on the first page of results. The ad I had to put on my blog was small; I think it is for ‘PlayStation’. Once you have your counter you will be able to monitor your blogs traffic. Check your stats the day before and after you publish posts, to see if one of the posts gets more views and/or brings more visitors. Writing posts that people will (and want) to read is an important step to making a blog that people will come back to.

Your page ranking plays a big role in ‘paid postings’. In some cases, the higher your ranking the more you get paid. Cha-Ch’ing! Therefore, it can be worth the effort. I say effort because it is not easy to make and keep up a successful blog. By successful I mean that is has a high rank and makes a profit. Almost anyone can do it for a short while, but finding stuff to write about is hard. Especially when you’ve been at it for a while.

Some ‘paid posting’ services that I have personal experience with.

  • Blogsvertise.com: I signed up with this one a while ago. They accept low ranking blogs but you will not get a steady stream of offers here (maybe higher-ranking blogs do). It took a few weeks for me to get my first ‘paid posting’ offer.
  • Smorty.com: It took along time for them to accept my blog. I had begun to think my blog had been declined, but I was wrong. So be patient after you have submitted your blog, it may take a while to hear back from them. Once a blog is accepted, you can do a ‘paid posting’ right away. It will be for smorty.com and the pay is $6.00. From what I can figure, $6.00 is the lowest amount you can get.
  • Bloggerwave.com: I have an account here, but they have yet to approve my blog (been declined once). They have a higher page-rank requirement. I do know that they offer a ‘paid posting’ right away like somrty.com.
  • Payperpost.com: Same story different website. I have an account but I submitted my blog too soon and it was declined. Therefore, I am waiting to resubmit it.
