You’ve spent months working on your ebook, and you are done. Now is the time to generate some advertising ideas to promote your masterpiece.

Proof-reading

First step, find a proof reader. - Do not skip this step - Anything published on the Internet is permanent. You do not want something with your name on it, looking half fast, thrown together or worse with some kind of mistake. Shell out that cash and pay for a proof reader. I found one priced for 34 pages at $35.00 USD. If you know someone, ask a friend. Make sure that person is versed in grammar.

Cover Page

Also decide on the cover. Personally I think cover designers are overpriced, I know how to do graphic design, so it wasn’t that hard for me to do my own cover. Look around but don’t pay more than $35.00, and make sure the cover is professional; this is what’s going to help you sell the book.

Make it a PDF

Make sure your ebook is a PDF; do not use the free ebook software they offer. Doing this limits how many people can view your ebook. Most ebook software are geared to PC users, so you’ll be making your market smaller as Mac users won’t be able to view your ebook. Adobe Acrobat works great for this feature. Save your ebook as word and then convert it to a PDF. Most newer versions of Microsoft word have this feature.

Web Site

Now you need to decide how you want to present your ebook. Do you want to create your own blog or website? Or do you just want another website to take care of it?

Having your own blog is a great way to get traffic to your ebook, and to get your voice out there. This will build up your credibility and make your ebook more trustworthy, all the more reason the reader may return to your site. A great blog for beginners to check out is Blogspot. Or if you’re looking for a free website builder, I like Bravenet. Both sites are easy to use and free. Once you have your site up there you can offer your ebook on your site for sale, or for free.

PayPal & PayLoadz

I’m sure you’ve heard of PayPal, but if you haven’t it’s a great way to offer payments for your products. Plus this site links really well with PayLoadz, which is a website geared to selling digital products like ebooks. If you don’t want to break the bank with an autoresponder, Payloadz is a great option to hold your product and only deliver once payment has been made via Paypal. Payloadz also gives you the html so you can load the “Buy now,” button anywhere on your website. This gives you the option of writing a squeeze page if you want.

Clickbank

Another way to go is Clickbank. You pay this company a fee to sell your ebook for you. Clickbank is a virtual store where people can sign up and be affiliates. Now you have people working for you and selling your ebook or product. In return, you give them a percentage on every sale, and Clickbank takes a small fee. I highly recommend this way, if you want to sell your ebook with little effort. Also it gives you affiliates, which are more people who are helping to push your product.

I think I have given you enough resources to get started on your ebook journey. Good luck!
