Writing comments on DoFollow blogs is one of the most effective, yet under-rated, blog comment strategies.

When building links to your website or blog ideally the links will have the following characteristics:

  • Be from a high PageRank site
  • DoFollow rather than NoFollow
  • Contain keyword-rich anchor text
  • Be from relevant sites
  • Located within the main page content

Apart from the fifth characteristic DoFollow blog comments tick all the boxes when it comes to the perfect incoming link. You get to select the blogs, write the comment, select the destination page on your site along with the anchor text. It’s especially effective at generating deep links to pages on your site which would otherwise struggle to attract links naturally.

What’s more, when you contribute insightful comments you can also build up a relationship with the recipient blogger. Bloggers benefit from repeat traffic and useful comments which enhance their articles, whilst you can generate a continuous supply of targeted incoming links. We actually switched to DoFollow recently for these very reasons.

There are many high quality DoFollow blogs out there, making good quality links just a comment away. To get you started here are 32 high quality blogs in the Online Marketing / Blogging / Make Money Online niches:

  1. Misti Sandefur, Christian Author/Freelance Writer Says:

My blog, Life of a Writer, is a DoFollow writing-related blog with a current PR of 3. I welcome all readers and spam-free commenters. Not only will my blog “follow” someone who leaves spam-free comments, but I’ll also visit their blog and leave a comment there as well. It’s always a great thing to connect with others and meet new people with the same interests as yours.

  2. Dan @ PowerDosh.com Says:

    PowerDosh.com is a do-follow blog, currently PR3.

  3. Charles Says:

Dan, thanks for mentioning PowerDosh, I had forgotten to include it. I’ve added it now under the list of PR3 blogs above as I just noticed that I mentioned one of the other blogs twice.

  4. Alex Says:

Thanks for inclusion of my blog. Spam free comments are always welcome but I do have to mention - DoFolow on my blog controlled by Lucia Linky Love plugin and turned on automatically after 3 approved comments.

On bonus side - I provide CommentLuv plugin that gives you an option to deep link :-)

  5. Dan @ PowerDosh.com Says:

No worries Charles, thanks for adding me to the list!

    Dan

  6. Pete Says:

So tell me then why is the list so low. Is the majority of sites out there almost all NO FOLLOW? Im irritated that more people don’t realize it’s a good thing to have all the flow in and out.
I keep finding the same do follow blogs.

  7. Charles Says:

This isn’t intended to be a comprehensive list, just a starting point. There are a lot more DoFollow blogs out there although the vast majority are NoFollow, especially blogs in other niches.

  8. David Says:

I have two PR 4 blogs that are do follow Keyword Luv and Comment Luv.

They are Virginia Breeze and Photo LinkLove.

Thanks for listing these others. I will definitely check them out.

  9. Ian Brodie Says:

Just found this page via google and I’m impressed. Thanks for all your hard work doing the research - much appreciated.

    Ian

  10. Mac Jones Says:

Many thanks for sharing the list. I’ve got a couple of the site on there but many are new to me. Looking forward to checking them out.

  11. T1 Says:

The list is small because alot of sites that where follow changed back to no follow. Some sites have no page rank so they do not help and others have links as no follow untill you make so many comments. Either way keyword luv is getting more popular and has a large following.

The 32 blogs will help your site that is why the post is called 32 high quality dofollow blogs.

  12. Fanimation Says:

Thanks for the info. I will definitely check out these sites. It must take a lot of hard work and dedication to come up with a list like this!

  13. charts-top10-hitliste Says:

nice list, but after one or two weeks the links are outdated…

    never mind charts-top10-hitliste

  14. DoFollow Blogs Search Engine Says:

Good list. I have added all these links to my search engine. Thanks! :-)

  15. Mac Jones Says:

The above comment make a very good point - it is always worth checking a blogs current status before leaving your comment just to make sure you’re still getting a backlink.

  16. Dan @ PowerDosh.com Says:

So that means you only leave comments because you want a backlink? Rather than genuinely contributing to an article?

Hmm, Perhaps I should delete all comments on my dofollow blog where the contributor has only commented once. :) However, I delete any comment that doesn’t contribute to an article.

  17. Mac Jones Says:

    Dan,

The article is about link building using blogs - surely the whole point is making sure the blogs actually provide you with a link. I’m not sure why someone only commenting once means they are doing it purely for the backlink - as you suggest, the main thing is that a comment contributes to the discussion in question. Do you find a healthier level of discussions since you implemented dofollow on your blog? Hopefully your site has seen a benefit from it.

  18. Dan @ PowerDosh.com Says:

I make a couple of points, although not clearly. What I meant was, surely commenting *only* for the sake of a backlink only gives you a fraction of the benefit.

The majority of spammy posts on my blog are oncers. However, those who actively engage in a conversation with me are far more likely to get their comment approved.

So my point is contributing to/challenging an article that provides value will:

    1) increase the chance of comment approval
    2) potentially fire a discussion
    3) may give you traffic too

I will always visit the site of a decent commenter.

I have found that do-follow has encouraged people to leave a comment who might not otherwise visit my blog.

  19. DoFollow Blogs Search Engine Says:

Even my Blog is a DoFollow Blog and its having PR2 right now!

    The URL is : http://www.websack.net :-)

  20. vlad Says:

Hi all, i have one Pr3 dofollow blog, and 2 Pr2, if you help i put in comment

  21. Charles Says:

Hey vlad - feel free to mention the two blogs below…

  22. Personal Finance Blog Says:

My Quest to Build an Empire is dofollow blog
    The Url is http;//www.questempire.com

  23. used travel trailers Says:

wow….Thanks for dofollow blog list. It will be very helpful to SEO. Bookmarked it[….]

  24. ChinaTrader Says:

Thanks a lot for making such great job!
Using dofollow blogs comments method, I found several good friends, so it’s not only a link-building, it’s also a great opportunity to learn about business and become more experienced.

  25. Computer Tips Says:

pretty good dofollow list. some of the websites listed have changed to nofollow though.

  26. Charles Says:

Computer Tips - you’re right, unfortunately quite a few have changed to NoFollow. I’ll look to put together a new updated list in a month or two.

  27. vlad Says:

    pr2 blog2u.info
    pr2 link4blogs.com
    pr3 wordpress4dummies.info
    all dofollow blog

  28. Keyword Research Services Says:

Great dofollow blog list Charles. It is disappointing that these lists have a limited lifetime. In time too many spammers flock to them and they have no choice but to switch to nofollow. I look forward to the updated list. Thanks.

  29. Hanna @ Watch Live TV on Computer Says:

I wish that there was a way of ridding the Internet of spammers. I find it needlessly counter-productive to constantly having to deal with them! DoFollow is great but it certainly does attract way too make spammers.

  30. Chris @ free iphone 3gs Says:

As a note to new visitors, it is worth checking if the blog is still do follow as they can often change (there is a firefox add on for this task). As mentioned by Hanna, it’s a shame that people can’t be responsible in reading the article and comments and adding something constructive to the post - stupid spammy comments don’t get them anywhere and possibly force the blog owner to remove the do-follow plug in.

  31. Charles Says:

I’d go along with that - a lot of the blogs above have been forced to revert to NoFollow simply because of all the spam they received. If you are going to use blog commenting for backlinks then it is important that you add value to the post, and if you can’t then just don’t leave a comment that time.

To check if a blog is DoFollow I use the Firefox extension below:

  32. mojji789 Says:

pretty good dofollow list. its really helpful for me…
    thanks alot

  33. Business knowledge Says:

i think it’s okay to give a comment only for backlinks, but make sure you give a good quality comment ^^

    thx for your list

  34. Kindle DX Says:

Thanks for this great list of dofollow blogs as well as your blog itself. It always helps to have a list like this handy instead of having to search for these things.

  35. Facebook Connect Developers Says:

Many people use do-follow blogs for just spamming purpose. They must have to think that by doing this they allow webmaster to make it no follow in future. Which is quite annoying. Every person should focus on quality comments and avoid spamming. Thanks for list

  36. Slim PS3 Says:

This is an excellent list for newbies (like myself) to the blogging scene to work through. One thing I’ve learnt is to check that the blog you’re commenting on is still do-follow. There’s no harm leaving a thoughtful comment even if do follow has been switched off but I thought I’d just let other users know it’s worthwhile checking. Thanks for a great list.

  37. Central Coast Web Design Says:

Thanks for the list, this really has saved a lot of time. Quite a few of them have been changed to NoFollow now but still worth leaving a comment.

  38. dofollow blog list Says:

I keep seeing Andy Beard listed on dofollow lists but he is no longer dofollow. I’m working on a new list, have around 150 dofollow blogs currently listed and plan to grow it and hopefully keep it updated.

  39. janice Says:

this was really helpful before but blog owners are having problem with spam everyday, so I guess this will be much effective only if we are actually contributing to the conversation rather than dropping message like thanks or great post.

by the way I think this site is a compliment of yours, The Freelance Writer’s GPS is a new e-book that tackles how we can start our career in freelance writing industry, I found it very useful so I wanted to spread the word about it..

  40. John Says:

Really good post..and thanks for the blog list.It is very helpful.

  41. Michael Says:

Great points above….All I ever get are pure spammers on my blog. Very rarely will I get some legitimate person to engage me in dialogue. The purpose of this is to engage in dialogue. Dan said it right above, if you contribute then you accomplish something….and then you can get your backlink. I am assembling a list for my own SEO purposes and the Blogs I know were once follow are now No Follow due to spammers (The modern day telemarketers)

  42. Ronnie@make money online uk Says:

Thanks for this list - I have just started blogging myself and learning about the importance of the dofollow option, I have enabled it myself.
You’ve given a lot of value here so many thanks again!

  43. Matt McGee Says:

Small Business Search Marketing is no longer a do-follow blog.

  44. Home Based Business Online Says:

Great post! Lately more and more blogs are switching to the nofollow attribute, so it’s getting way harder to find high quality dofollow blogs.
