Let’s Collaborate
Posted by Patrick on November 15th, 2007
The recent Google hit over Page Rank created a wind of change on the Blogosphere. Text-Link-Ads is one that got a serious punch, when bloggers such as Yaro Starak says “Yes I do” to Google and stops selling text ads, it tells a lot. I can understand his position since he was a PR6 and therefore a huge portion of his traffic came from Google organic, so dropping from PR6 to PR3 hurts. But still, what’s next? Oh have you heard about the new AdSense click zone policy? Let’s be honest here, not only we are giving Google tons of personal information, but we are also changing the way we collaborate, all in the name of Page Ranking.
This PR story has a negative effect upon smaller blogs, scaring some from extending collaboration. In a previous post I was talking about the power of blogging collaboration. We are not competitors, but collaborators. Why don’t we let Google do its things for a while, and we maximize exchanges and collaboration to increase visitors and RSS subscribers to our blogs?
