Five Ways To Kill Your Blog

You wouldn’t really want people to read your blog, would you? If you are sick of the hassle and the hype, here’s how you can make sure that no one new visits your blog and your old readers go elsewhere.
Go Off Topic
One reason why people stop reading a blog is because they don’t know what they will get. That works for some blogs, but if you have a niche and readers expect a certain kind of content, not providing it will drive them away.
Forget About Optimization
There are plenty of plugins that will help you optimise your blog post titles, create metatags and avoid duplicate content. Don’t use them and Google will soon put most of your content into the supplemental results index. With luck, your blog will never come out.
Ignore Your Readers
his one really works. When people visit your blog and comment on your posts, don’t do anything. Really. It’s that simple. Your stone cold silence will drive them away, and they won’t come back. Blogging is a conversation – no responses to comments means that people will stop reading. It’s foolproof, honestly.
Ignore Other Blogs
There’s a big blogging world out there. If you want to make sure that no one finds out about your blog, don’t link to other blogs. In return, those blogs won’t link back to you. You can stay in blissful obscurity for as long as you want.
Keep It To Yourself
If you want to kill your blog, stay well away from Feedburner and Technorati. Claiming your blog in Technorati and burning a feed in Feedburner could result in a sharp increase in visibility and readership – and that’s just what you want to avoid. To make sure you stay beneath the radar, don’t use ping services or blog directories either.
Follow these five steps and your blog will remain relatively unknown, or will soon be forgotten. Of course, if you ignore this advice, you just might end up with a successful blog. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
